Bukovac Vlaho
(1855-1922)

Croatian painter who worked mainly in portraits and landscapes. He soon abandoned his realistic style and moved towards pointillism through impressionism. He travelled the world, settling for a time in Paris, where he met Václav Brožík and Vojtěch Hynais. He was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts, and many personalities passed through his studio, such as Emil Filla, Bohumil Kubišta, Bedřich Feigl.
